Visit by students of Iowa State University

The Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources through its Department of Agroforestry hosted a group of 11 students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences of Iowa State University (ISU) in the USA. The students are in Ghana for a two-week Study Abroad Program in tropical agriculture from December 31, 2023 to January 14, 2024. The study visit seeks to create opportunities for students from both universities to study abroad and share experiences. The Program also has opportunities for staff mobility and joint research.

iowa visitThe students were accompanied by Dr. David Kwaw-Mensah, Department. of Agronomy, ISU, Dr. Theressa Cooper, Assistant Dean for Diversity, ISU, and Mr. Jodi Cornell, Director of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Study Abroad Program. 
The students among other activities were taken through Climate-Smart Cocoa Agroforestry activities through a presentation Prof. Victor Rex Barnes and agricultural site visits to various pars of Ghana. Also in attendance were the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. B. B. Campion, the Head of the Department Agroforestry, Prof. A. A. Abunyewa, senior members, teaching assistants and postgraduate students of the Faculty.
