Third-year students of the BSc Packaging Technology programme in the Department of Wood Science and Technology at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources have organised a Wood Packaging Exhibition to showcase their creativity and technical skills.
The exhibition formed part of the students’ semester assessment in the Wood Packaging course.
As part of this, they were required to design and create innovative wooden packaging solutions for a range of products.
The event attracted staff, students, and visitors, who had the opportunity to interact with the exhibitors and appreciated the creativity, functionality, and sustainability considerations embedded in the designs.
The showcased projects demonstrated a strong understanding of packaging principles, including material selection, structural design, product protection, and environmental sustainability.
Many of the designs reflected practical, real-world applications, highlighting the students’ readiness to contribute to industry needs.
Speaking at the event, the course lecturer and organizer of the event, Dr. Kwadwo Boakye Boadu, expressed his excitement at the level of innovation and craftsmanship displayed by the students.
“I am highly impressed by the creativity, technical skills, and originality demonstrated by our students. Their work shows great promise, and I am confident that they have a bright future in the packaging industry,” he said.
Dr. Boadu further noted that such practical exhibitions play a vital role in bridging the gap between theory and practice, while preparing students for professional careers in packaging technology.
The exhibition reaffirmed the programme’s commitment to hands-on learning, innovation, and the development of industry-ready graduates.
