Department of Wood Science Technology Wins World Packaging Competition Award

The Department of Wood Science Technology at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has won the Save Food Gold Award in the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) 2022 WorldStar STUDENT Competition. After defeating over 272 successful entries from 30 countries, the Department of Wood Science and Technology was named the overall winner of the Save Food Gold Award Category.

The CANR team was represented by Humility Daniella Nyame, Christian Addo, and Samuella Obuama Aggrey. Prof. Kojo Agyapong Afrifah, Head of the Department, revealed in an interview that the Team won the Ghanaian competition in 2022 and went on to become world champions.

The WorldStar Student Awards competition is an international packaging design competition for undergraduate or graduate students from all over the world who are working on packaging projects such as structural design and/or graphic design.
