Free Health Screening for Staff of CANR 

CANR free health Screening

 

The Wellness Coordinating Team of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has organized a five-day health screening for its staff. The exercise was staggered for staff at the Provost Office, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, and Bureau of Integrated Rural Development respectively from 25th to 29th of April 2022 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day.

Staff at the College were tested for obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Nurses from the University Hospital provided the beneficiaries with advice on practical ways of maintaining good health.

The Counsellor of the College and Chairperson of the CANR Wellness Team, Ms. Akua Afriyie Addae, stated at the event that the purpose of the exercise was to ensure that everyone is in good health to work effectively and efficiently. She further disclosed that the screening exercise was part of efforts to encourage staffs of the College to undertake regular screening. 

Participants expressed their appreciation to the entire CANR Wellness Team for the initiative and urged them to repeat it on a semester basis.
