The Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has launched a three-day Digital Marketing Mastery Certificate Course, aimed at equipping participants with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the digital marketing space.
Designed with a focus on practical learning, the course combines hands-on activities with real-life case studies to help participants create impactful digital campaigns, gain insights into consumer behavior, and refine marketing strategies that can boost engagement and sales.
Speaking at the launch, Prof. Dadson Awunyo-Vitor, Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, emphasized the importance of mastering digital skills in today's world.
"Now, you cannot do anything without mastering your skills in the digital space. Whether as lecturers or professionals, we need to work on personal branding and understand how to navigate the online space. With so many people working remotely and seeking collaborations, digital marketing knowledge is essential," he said.
"I am happy to see you all take part in this programme. If you don’t engage in these things, it may become challenging to access jobs and partnerships in the future. You need to make the best use of the knowledge that you get here," he urged the participants.
The course covers critical areas in digital marketing, including social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, digital branding, content creation and management, emerging trends and innovations and many more.
Dr. Monica Addison, Director of BIRD, encouraged participants to actively engage in the training, stressing that the shift from traditional to digital marketplaces presents a valuable opportunity.
“Take advantage of this opportunity and immerse yourself fully. Don’t be a passive observer—participate, ask questions, and make sure you leave here with a deeper understanding,” she advised.
The course will train about 40 participants through a blend of online and in-person sessions.
