CANARSA Launches 5th anniversary

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Students Association (CaNaRSA) launched its 5th Anniversary Celebration under the theme “Retrospecting achievements and developing strategies for sustainable growth within CANARSA”. The event was held on 1st April 2022 at the New College Building.

The student association was established in February 2017. Speaking at the programme, the President of CaNaRSA, Appiah Evans revealed that the association is a fully student-run body that represents and operates in the light of democratic principles and seeks the best interest of students. To achieve this, the association mobilizes and harnesses the human intellectual potential and capacity of the students at the College and channels them into valuable projects and activities.

The President further indicated that in recent years, the CANaRSA has been actively engaged in advocacies, public education, project initiatives, and implementation, information dissemination, and capacity building programs that focus on areas including Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Economic Growth and Development, Youth Empowerment, and Development, and Health and Education.

In the address by the anniversary planning committee chairperson master Hussey Yayrah, he made mentioned the anniversary would be celebrated throughout the academic year with a set of programs and projects which includes the Tree Planting Exercise, CANRPRENEUR, Provost Quiz and Debate, Health and Counseling Program, and CANaRSA@5 Alumni Homecoming & Sports Competitions.

The SRC President, Mr. Michael Abuah expressed his joy to see the Students Association grow during his address at the anniversary launch.

Present to grace the occasion include Representatives from the office of the DOS, College management, CANR faculty deans, All CANaRSA executives, SRC President and some executives, College Presidents from other college students associations in KNUST, All CANaRSA departmental president and secretaries, and All CANaRSA class reps.
