The Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), Professor Dadson Awunyo-Vitor, has met with College technicians to engage them on challenges affecting their work, particularly limited access to training.

Addressing the them, the Provost explained that the engagement was prompted by concerns about their limited opportunities for professional development.

He noted that the meeting was intended to provide a platform for technicians to raise both longstanding and emerging issues, with the goal of identifying practical solutions to enhance their effectiveness and contribution to teaching.

According to the Provost, technicians are central to the College’s vision of promoting hands-on, skills-oriented education.

As part of this vision, the college is exploring new approaches to organising lectures and practical sessions to ensure students receive uninterrupted and meaningful practical training.

The Provost outlined proposed reforms aimed at strengthening practical-based teaching and learning.

He emphasised that regardless of the model adopted, technicians will play a critical role in its successful implementation.

Prof. Awunyo-Vitor assured the technicians of management’s willingness to address identified challenges and to work collaboratively towards strengthening practical training and enhancing the overall teaching and learning experience at CANR.
