A three-member team of research scientists from the Centre for Applied Soil Science and Biology of the Segura (CEBAS), of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) paid a visit to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Accompanied by Dr. Patrick Kumah, Dr. Newton Kwaku Amaglo, and Dr. Eli Gaveh from the Department of Horticulture, they were warmly received by Prof. Dadson Awunyo Vitor, the Provost of the college.
The purpose of their visit was to explore potential collaboration areas between the Department of Horticulture and CEBAS-CSIC, with a possible extension to other fields following successful prior cooperation with the department.
The Provost acknowledged the initiative gratefully and discussed the arrangement of forthcoming activities with the visiting team. The team were with the department for four days.
The acting head of the department of Horticulture, Dr. Patrick Kumah expressed optimism about their interaction.
"I look forward to them gaining a deeper understanding of our department and exploring other locations that showcase Ghana's natural environment. We've exchanged many ideas here, so I'm confident they'll take our suggestions into consideration, just as we will. Hopefully, when we reconvene, we can integrate our plans,"he said.
