The Faculty of Agriculture (FOA) has bid farewell to Prof. Emmanuel Yiridoe from Dalhousie University, following a successful series of seminars, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
Prof. Yiridoe returned to his alma mater to share knowledge, build networks, and contribute to academic capacity building across both the Faculty and the College.
During a brief farewell and exit meeting held in his honour, the faculty expressed its deep appreciation for the valuable contributions he made during his stay. The meeting served as a moment of reflection and gratitude for the positive impact Prof. Yiridoe had on both staff and students.
“This is an exit meeting to thank you for the support you have given to senior members and students,” remarked Prof. Robert Aidoo. “We also present a token of appreciation to express our gratitude for your efforts and contributions.”
In his response, Prof. Yiridoe expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and the opportunity to give back to the institution where he began his academic journey.
“It was a great honour and opportunity for me to return to the very place that laid the foundation for my undergraduate education,” he said.
He extended his gratitude to the various units within CANR that supported the visit, both financially and in kind, including the College Board and the Carnegie Corporation.
Reflecting on the engagements, Prof. Yiridoe acknowledged the valuable feedback he received and expressed optimism about future collaborations.
“We received some useful feedback, and hopefully, if the opportunity arises in the future, I would be happy to return—not just alone, but to work jointly with the department so that together, we can further enhance capacity building,” he added.
