The Aquaculture and Water Resources Management Students’ Association (AWRMSA) has received 100 bags of fish feed from RAANAN Fish Feed West Africa.
This generous donation followed a formal request submitted by the student leadership through an alumnus, Seyram Adjei Amanie, who directed their appeal to RAANAN Fish Feed West Africa.

“The Aquaculture Students’ Association contacted me because they have started a fish farm to help students gain hands-on practical experience. Through some contacts I have, we reached out to RAANAN to see if they could assist with a few bags of feed for the tilapia the association intends to culture,” Seyram explains.
Thankfully, they agreed and provided us with 100 bags of tilapia feed for the entire production cycle. This feed should sustain them for the next six months and enable the students to produce table-size tilapia for the KNUST community,” he added.
The former Association President, Michael Sedohia, also expressed appreciation and highlighted the purpose of the initiative:

“We are venturing into aquaculture production, specifically rearing tilapia from the fry stage to the grow-out stage. This initiative is designed to equip us with the practical skills that complement what we study in class. As a startup, we received financial support from the Department, and they have also provided us with fingerlings to stock the ponds.”
Michael further called on non-profit organisations, corporate bodies, and other partners to support the association’s aquaculture project and help strengthen experiential learning for students.
