HIGHLIGHTS OF FOCUS AREAS

1. TEACHING, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

Goal: Effectively enhance teaching and research

  • Installation of teaching equipment and facilities in all lecture halls in College
  • Installation of generator plants for regular power supply in College buildings
  • Increase number of computers in Students’ Computer laboratories in College
  • Establish e-library services to expand and enhance staff and students access to information
  • Increase undergraduate enrolment through rebranding and marketing of programmes
  • Increase IDL postgraduate programmes from 2 to 10
  •  Introduce IDL mode industry-demanded professional short courses
  • Promote students’ entrepreneurship development and employability skills – soft skills training
  • Establish College-Industry liaison Committee for internships, vacation training and job placements

 

2. PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMEMT

Goal: Increase teaching and learning space for staff and students

  1. Commence the construction of a 4-storey College building complex
  2. Revamp existing practical facilities in Departments of College

 

3. FINANCIAL RESOURCES MOBILIZATION

  1. Increase revenue mobilization by 60 % through

1.  College PPP initiatives e.g.

  • Vegetables sales from Enterprise-based Greenhouses
  • Enhanced fruit products sales from Fruit Processing factory

2. Consultancies and Grants/Research Projects

  • Establish a College Research Grants/Projects Committee to source for and coordinate the development of theme-based proposals

 

4. HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITIES IMPACT

  • Increase Staff recruitment and retention
  • Ensure the remaining Academic staff attain terminal degree
  • Increase by 15% the number of Academic staff at the Professorial level
  • Improve staff publication output through mentorship
  •  Institute Award and Recognition Systems for teaching, non-teaching staff and students
  • Continuous engagement with MMDAs to embark on community training with expected impacts on such communities
